I know this is long and we can e mail it to anyone who wants it this way. Most of you will get an e mail blast anyway
SAVING CANINE ESTATES, Inc.
Most of you are aware that we are fighting to keep Canine Estates going so we can continue our mission of saving as many dogs as possible. We need your help.
Pinellas County has taken the position that Canine Estates is operating the property (2825 Pine Hill Road) as a “kennel” which is not a permitted use for the property under its land development code. As you may know, we moved the business operations to another location. However, since the dogs are still kept at the Pine Hill property, the County has maintained its position and continues to fine us. We have hired an attorney and land use planner to assist us in applying for a conditional use permit to allow us to use the property as a “kennel” and continue to operate Canine Estates at the property. We have submitted the application and are undergoing the application process now.
Here is how you can help. On June 5, 2019, at 9:00 a.m., there will be a public hearing in the County Commission Chambers of the Board of Adjustments and Appeals located at 315 Court Street, Clearwater, FL 33756, where the board will hear our application for the conditional use permit. We ask that you attend this hearing and show your support for Canine Estates. Please ask your neighbors, friends or anyone who loves animals to attend. We will hire a bus for transport if necessary to get as many supporters there as possible. We will be handing out t-shirts for everyone to wear to show our unity.
In addition, if you or anyone you know is willing to speak in support of Canine Estates, that would be tremendously helpful. Each person who wishes to speak has three (3) minutes to speak during the public comment period. We encourage you to explain to the board, in your owns words, why the organization is important to you and why you think we should be continued to operate.
Please understand that your support is vital. As you may know, we will have some opposition at the hearing from one neighbor and some of her friends. Any and all who attend and speak on our behalf will be incredibly helpful. There are too many dogs that need saving! We have all worked too hard to let anyone stop us! With enough support from you we can make this happen!
Please let us know if you have any questions. We will have a sign-up sheet on our Facebook that we will post later to mark your attendance and if you will be speaking. If you are not on our Volunteer Facebook please respond via e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for helping us with this very important fight.
